Meet the Team
Dr. Eric Gifford, MD
Eric Gifford, MD, is a board-certified sports medicine and family medicine physician. Dr. Gifford is the founder of 417 Sports Medicine & Orthopedics located in Springfield, Missouri.
Dr. Gifford’s passion for sports medicine and orthopedics started long before his medical career. After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, he even opened his own motorcycle shop. As a motocross enthusiast, Dr. Gifford suffered his fair share of musculoskeletal injuries growing up.
His experience and his expertise make him uniquely qualified to care for all types of musculoskeletal injuries and degenerative conditions. Eventually, Dr. Gifford recognized his talents to serve his community better as a physician and quickly enrolled in the Medical University of the Americas in Charlestown, Nevis, where he served as the student body president.
After earning his Doctor of Allopathic Medicine degree, Dr. Gifford completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He later completed a sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.
Nathan Graff, FNP
Nathan is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and Athletic Trainer. Most of his work experience has been in orthopedics. When he is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons.
Holly Dean, PA
Holly is our physician assistant. She graduated from Des Moines University Physician Assistant Program in 2005 and has worked as a Physician Assistant for the last 16 years. Most of her work experience has been in orthopedics. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Matt Loyd, MS
Matt Loyd is a Certified Athletic Trainer with a Masters degree in Athletic Training. He is FMS certified as well as Rock tape certified. After completing his undergraduate degree at Central Methodist University while being a collegiate athlete, he received his masters degree from Missouri State University in 2017 with an emphasis on human movement and the neurodevelopmental sequence. He has 6 years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting in all phases of the rehab process. Matt enjoys training, fishing, hunting and farming in his free time. Matt heads up EVOLUTION SPORTS PERFORMANCE TRAINING.
